Research activity ~ Social Welfare Corporation Habataki Welfare Project~

~Cultivate a living power, and create medical welfare with patient participation study~

About thirty years have passed since occurrence of medical-induced HIV incidents. These events had an enormous negative impact on patients with hemophilia and their family as well as society. It is regrettable that there still remain problems and future anxieties among them. So we need to support activities for those who suffered from HIV scandal. Government planning consists of our ultimate aim involved in restructuring and regenerating their life. However, it is only half done.
Along with these relief works for HIV-victims, concretely speaking, Habataki is currently conducting not only useful activities for improvement in the standards of HIV-victims and their family but also contributing to any social medical welfare. Furthermore, as patient-based organization, we are planning to a wide variety of research activities towards individual torn-thought by medical-induced HIV scandal.
To be more specifically speaking

  • Aim an active relief for HIV-victims with extensive experts to advocate and implement policy.
  • Recover life for HIV-victims family and provide them with comprehensive support on the standpoint of long-term view.
  • Support and help children with chronic diseases to achieve self-sustainability while having an international perspective with background on lessons of medical-induced HIV incident,
  • Support medical ethics and psychosocial issues such as hereditary, sharing decision, relationship between doctor and patient and social isolation during conducting practice. As highly priority issue of current and future necessities for HIV victims and their families, we are implementing research activities while deliberately considering them, their families and interested parties.

We develop research activities with our wisdom and creation by advocating a practical support and system as well as searching for medical welfare and society.

These make cooperation progress and provide an existing framework of study with a new perspective of patient-oriented view.

Especially, we supplement non-specialist work in an authentic way and give effectively a scientific advice to those who engaged in support for patients and their related people on site, while sharing the value created by our research activity and raising them. We believe that all of our activities such as patient participant action research and the creation of social welfare by cultivating their living powers, which play important roles in Habatakis’ basic scheme.

We aim at contributing to solving problems in a broad perspective.

For example, HIV is notoriously known as one of top three infectious diseases and still remains unresolved big issues such as discrimination and prejudice throughout the world. The fixed concept of HIV considered as death is essential to change to living with HIV.
Our job is to establish effectively scheme of treatment, get rid of difficulties involved in their work and disease, and shift their interest to quality of life as well as promote their action for change. Regrettably, these problems are unresolved even now.

Because of being invisible concerning these, we conduct a research activity by visualization with the use of an interview method and collection of data in a scientific way, resulting in a practical active plan with our efforts.
