Does anyone favor from current medicine and medical device? Think about their effectiveness for patients together.

Use human biotechnology and engineering effectively.

Recently I got the chance to see The Tokyo Women's Medical University-Waseda University Joint Institution for Advanced Biomedical Sciences (TWIns).
I talked with Prof. Takanishi* and Dr. Ishii**there.

*Atusuo Takanishi is a Professor of the Department of Modern Mechanical Engineering, Waseda University and a concurrent Professor and one of the core members of the HRI (Humanoid Robotics Institute), Waseda University.

**Hiroyuki Ishii is a lecturer of Faculty of Science and Engineering, Waseda University.

As for Twins, I happened to see Dr. Yasuo Ikeda who was a grand person of hematology in the entrance on the day. All I knew that he actively works at this institution.

I had vague preconceptions about this institution which actively study Robotics engineering before visiting. In reality these advanced technology are in close touch with development of device and medical care, coordinating with the fields of specialization across the boundaries of medicine, science, and engineering.

After knowing what it is so great, I strongly request them to research my aging flesh and its relation to decreased range of joint motion, materials covering muscle weakness caused by lipodystrophy and development of multi dimensions of assessment of limitation and strength.

The purpose of this institution is to study and yield immediate practical applications because of joint effort between industry and academia.

Especially, large corporation is difficulty in producing measuring instrument of medical technology so that tiny companies are responsible for making these apparatus and techniques.

Above all, unfortunately, prevailing excellent medical devices are interfered due to an unusual slow 5 year procedure in order to pass the examination, clinical trial, assessment, and approval by Health, Labour and Welfare Ministry and Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA).

While they are delayed, ongoing improvements in other countries go ahead. As a result, Japanese market is fully occupied and overwhelmed by foreign products. These absurd systems in Japan exist and continue. Let's just say drug lag. Both implementers and researchers are patient with a critical slowness regarding medical equipment. Does anyone obtain benefit for human science? What is human science? Who can use this technology? Prior to consideration of authority, Let's think about the issue together in order to use it effectively for everyone.
